InfoEd

In 1999, the Federal government passed the Federal Financial Assistance Management Improvement Act, more commonly known as the Grants Streamlining Initiative or Public Law 106-107.  The law mandated that 26 Federal grants-making agencies coordinate their activities to require fully electronic submission of grants through a single portal, now known as grants.gov.

In response, RFMH selected the InfoEd software package as a way for researchers and administrators to dovetail with the Federal grant submission process while also enhancing the ability to enter, store and retrieve information.

Our InfoEd package contains the following features:

SPIN and SMARTS:  SPIN is a funding opportunity database that researchers can use to identify the most current grant programs.  SMARTS is an automated alerts system that notifies investigators of relevant new programs that match their research interests.

GENIUS: A module used to track information associated with individual investigators and other staff.  The information contained in this module feeds automated processes in other modules, and provides essential information for proposal development.

PROPOSAL DEVELOPMENT: Used to develop grant proposals from start to finish.  PD is also the vehicle for submitting electronic proposals to the appropriate sponsors.

PROPOSAL TRACKING: A streamlined grant tracking and reporting tool used to manage grants internally.  This system is used primarily by administrators, and links with activity generated through Proposal Development.
